Tandem crane lift - case study

Late last month, Carter Plant Hire was asked to take two of its mobile cranes to a site that needed an office block moved. The length of the building meant that each end had to be supported by a separate crane but the lift had to be coordinated so that there was no movement in the structure as it left the ground.

This is known in the trade as a tandem lift. As you can imagine, it requires skill, clear communication and a level of trust between the crane operators and the slinger/signallers for this to be successful. Luckily Carter Plant Hire has worked with its team for many years, making this a straightforward job with a happy client at the end of the day.
